If you'd like to give your rustic country porch a cheap "facelift", here are some ideas I tried and liked... First, I had some old pine furniture that my son and I painted light green. Then, not wanting to pay the exorbitant price for new outside cushions, we purchased an old pink and green blanket at an antique store for $3 to put on our glider, topped off with some repurposed kitchen chair pads in green we had laying around. I bought a tall palm tree plant from Lowes to use as a screen of sorts, and got a beautifully peaceful sounding wind chime, threw in some more plants, a cheap $5 brown rug from Wal-Mart and...voila! Now, if only I could keep my dogs from walking on my rug with muddy paws. Oh well... It is a rustic porch after all!

So i just moved this past weekend and all i had were my clothes - no furniture what so ever. I started searching around for an affordable furniture store www.istylefurniture.com.au/ . Of course i tried the usual Ikea but then i realized it was time for some real furniture. Throughout the whole process this store was extremely helpful. I showed consultant pictures of my apartment and he made very helpful suggestions on furniture styles to match. He was very honest and transparent throughout the process. He completely gave me space while at the same time being very available to help me out if i had any questions, After 2 hours of painstakingly going through the catalogs, i decided on what i wanted. I was back the next day and paid a deposit. He was going to deliver half of the furniture on Tuesday (i made order on Saturday). Overall, i had an A+ experience. If you need any furniture no matter how small you should go to this store, you should not have to settle for cheap furniture. His prices beat Ikea and other comparable furniture stores hands down and you get to get almost instant gratification. What are you waiting for? go get your furniture. My apartment looks super chic just the way i wanted it!

Well, I dont live in a country house. BUT this is my childhood home. We have been here since I was 2 years old, making it 53 years. Its a cute cape, with a small enclosed front porch. Its my favorite spot to have my morning ice coffee and watch the sunrise on hot morning. Id like to give it a make over, but we only use it mostly in the summer. Id like to start using it more but i dont know how i can with the brutal New England winters we have. I have mini blinds and valances up, and my light house collection scattered about, a chair and thats it. Talk about boring ,,, any ideas?
