Peanut Blossom Cookies
1 and 3/4 C flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 C sugar 1/2 C packed brown sugar 1/2 C chortening 1/2 C peanut butter 1 egg 2 T. milk 1 tsp vanilla 48 chocolate kisses
To make: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Combine flour, bak soda and salt in medium bowl. Set aside. 3. Cream together sugar, brown sugar, shortening, and peanut butter. Stir in the beaten egg, the milk and vanilla. 4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, stirring as you go. 5. Shape into balls. 6. Roll balls in sugar and place them on ungreased cookie sheets. 7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. 8. Top each cookie as they come out of oven, immediately, with a candy kiss. Push them down until cookie cracks some. 9. Cool for 2 minutes on cookie sheet, then remove them to a cooling rack.

These are easy and delicious! Remember to have all of your chocolate kisses unwrapped and ready to place on cookies as they come out of the oven. I made these last night and the recipe made about 36. I baked them for 10-11 minutes. They are even better the next day after the flavor sets in and they have been covered for 12 hours.
