Have you ever wondered what exactly is meant by the word "grace"? We SAY grace meaning a prayer asking the blessing over a meal and giving thanks to God for what He has provided... We can be "graceful" in the way we move about. (I.e. gymnasts! Not me!) But what does it mean when we say that God extends His grace to us? Some have defined grace as "undeserved" favor. It is undeserved because you did not have to do anything to obtain it. And you did not deserve it. I have heard it explained that it is like when a king stops and pays attention to a poor peasant. Grace is pretty unexpected. It is out of the blue...startling. You were not looking for it, but it found you. I like to think of it in terms of the most generous and lavish attention given to me because someone REALLY loves me! And that someone is God! I am so thankful for His gift of grace, His forgiveness offered to all who believe in and accept His Son as their personal Savior. Just think, just like Jesus called the disciples by looking them in the eye and simply saying, "Follow me," He is saying that personally to each one of us.
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" John 1:12.
