An easy fruit dessert that goes well with meatloaf and pork roast!
6-8 cups of sliced and peeled apples 3-4 tsp cinnamon (optional,but I love it!) 3-4 T water 2-4 tsp lemon juice 2 C rolled oats 1 and 1/2 C flour 1 and 1/2 C packed brown sugar 1 C butter, softened
To make: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Place apples in ungreased, glass casserole dish (11 x 7 size). 3. Sprinkle with water, lemon juice and cinnamon. 4. In large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar and softened butter. Mix with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. 5. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. 6. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.

Be careful not to bake apples in a metal pan and then use lemon juice. It will cause a chemical reaction between the metal and lemon. It will make your apples turn a funny gray color and seem to not taste as good. Use a glass dish if using lemon juice!
